Corporate Leadership Training - Leadership Styles

There are three basic styles of leadership. All of us use these three styles. Now, let me pause here for a minute and say that I am not suggesting that you change your style. What I am suggesting is that you become flexible with styles. Do you agree with me that your style works a little 'time and fails miserably most of the time? Why is it so? Why one style does not fit every situation. What I am suggesting is that you are using a situational leadership more flexible in terms of leadership styles. Use the style that best suits your situation and people involved.

That said, what are the three styles of leadership? The styles are the following:

1. Autocratic
2. Democratic
3. Free Rein

Let me explain what it is and when to use each style. Autocratic: the autocratic leader is more like a general. The commander of an army. They are responsible for quick decisions, and tell others what to do. We have seen this style a lot in the business world in 1950 through 1980. We still see it today, but not as much as those decades earlier. Why do we see so much in the past? Well, where CEOs and presidents of organizations to get their training? Many of them came from the military. And 'an autocratic leadership style good for the military? Absolutely. Especially in times of war. Why? Because we are in crisis or emergency mode. The decisions were made and made quickly or people would die. The autocratic leaders stepped in and won the wars.

After the war, these leaders came back and took their place in the corporate world. They found that their civilian counterparts did not take orders like their military counterparts. This has caused them some problems.

The leaders discovered that their style did not work in every situation. They learned that they had to be flexible in their leadership styles.

Is there still a place for autocratic leadership in the corporate world because we have emergencies and other situations that require quick decisions and quick actions. But what we must do to maximize our effectiveness is not stuck in one style. Use the style that best suits your situation.

Democratic: The second style of leadership style is democratic. This is the leadership style of teamwork. And 'managed democracy. We put things on a vow to take decisions and majority rules. This is great for team loyalty and participation, but allow me a question. If every decision of your office to be put to a vote? Of course not. So, when this is a good leadership style to use? When you need to get buy-in (having open discussions in which you can answer questions and sell your vision) and when the decisions are not of great importance. Use this style to build relationships and teamwork.

Free Rein: In this style of leadership, you get half and let our team do their thing. It is a style in which there is absolutely no micro management. This is positive. The challenge is that team members must be excellent, well trained, and go getter to its success. If you have a lot of entry level workers and workers who are new to the job, this is not the best way to be in. The workers will need more of your input and guidance at least for the short term.

Well, we have.

Three styles of leadership: Rein autocratic, democratic and free. All have their advantages and all have their disadvantages. Use the style that best suits your situation and your team members involved and you will be able in all situations of leadership .......
