SEO for Small Business FAQ - 2 of 10 - To Blog Or Not?

If you have a blog for SEO? Yes, but for the correct reasons. Definitely have a blog, and make announcements of interesting things going on in the industry such as new products, anniversaries, fair appearances, and so on. This should not be "I'm sitting on the patio" stuff. Keep it relevant to your business.

However, it should not be blogging just because you're trying to get to your website SEO results. Yes, you should have relevant keywords in title and in your blog post, but did not blog for the sake of presenting content 'keyword rich'. The use of a keyword more than3 or 4 times in a document, not only violates the rules of correct writing, but it also angered the bot, if a thing can be said. The algorithms used by the bots have a tendency to attribute a lower value on the excessive use of words in the keyword Meta tag.

Do not be afraid to use the "bread" word in the blog post of bread if it's one of the keywords, but you should be aware that repeating "bread" again and will annoy the reader. For example:
See our variety of fresh bread. We have wheat bread, pumpernickel bread, 7 bread, this bread, the bread. Bread, Bread, Bread! Write for the reader, not bots. The bots do not buy, people do.

When it comes to personal information on the company blog, write about it if it is directly related to your business. If your child has a son Mark, a short distance into a larger, business-related message would be nice, but does not fill the post with 10 pictures of the child. There is a place to brag about your nephew, your corporate blog is not one of them. Also note how I mentioned the guy four times in this paragraph with a different word each time. This is one of those finer points of SEO, "Variety keyword", and should play a role in marketing. Remember that we talked thesaurus?

Also in this case, if a personal history refers to the activity is perfectly OK to make a post complete it. We say that Mark, who has just had a baby, has recently completed his MBA. A few sentences about the best, but if you are joining the family business, then this deserves a blog post full of phrases dozens, most of which should be about its ability to help your small business and your customers. This would be a more appropriate use for the business blog.

Another fine use of a business blog would be the retirement of a long-time employee. This will give kudos to the employee, give you and your customers the chance to say goodbye, and also serve as notification of an open position. Perhaps announcing the planned withdrawal a couple of months before so you can take to train an apprentice under the wing of seasoned professional? You can use this action to further promote the company by sending the new hire and how it is formed in the right way from "good old Pete."

So the answer to question 2 is: "Yes, but keep it professional."
