Franchise Marketing Plan

In order to go anywhere as a franchisee, the franchisor must have a robust and effective marketing plan in place. Here are some guidelines when it comes to looking for a marketing plan of the franchisor:

1) Know the basics: You should take the time to learn the basics of how marketing franchise business plans. In general, a marketing plan is a map dictated by the franchisor, which dictates how activities will be brought in. As a franchisee, you will contribute a certain amount of money / percentage of sales in a collective pool controlled by the franchisor's marketing plan (note that other affiliates will contribute to the pool as well). Depending on your needs as a franchisee, the franchisor will distribute the money from the pool that will cover expenses such as advertising, direct mailings to potential and existing clients, print ads, in-house marketing expenses and fees paid to advertising agencies for their services .

2) Knowing the right questions to ask: To get a good idea about the duration and success of a franchise marketing plan, ask these simple questions: Do you understand the needs and tastes of your customers? Know the strengths of your competitors? (If you are an active customer of the franchise you're thinking of buying into these questions can be answered quite easily).

3) For more information: If you are one of those potential franchisees who do not know much about the franchise you are considering buying in, you must contact the franchise, and obtain all information available to the public about the marketing plan. Franchising usually comply with this request, even if only
because they see you as a potential source of income.

4) See the TOC: You should try to get a peek at the head of marketing support that use existing franchisees. Whereas a lot of this content may be too sensitive to distribute to potential franchisees, the franchisor should be able to give you at least the index, which will give you a solid overview of the project used to market the brand and product.

5) Look for other members: Be sure to ask more specific questions about affiliate sales, the best avenues of advertising, and what the franchisor may change the marketing plan (if any). As you probably deduced, you can determine much about your potential franchise affiliates to measure the level of satisfaction with current marketing strategies dictated by the franchisor.

6) Learn if the franchise is receptive and the input of Franchisees: For the most part, the franchisor grants its members a certain influence in setting up their marketing plans. See what they say they generally affiliates with respect to improvements of the marketing plan. Also, find out whether the strategies and / or ideas that I suggested have been recognized and used by the franchisor - this will give you a good idea about how much leeway you'd have to develop creative marketing plan ....
