Analysis of affiliate programs

Can you please tell me how I can do analysis to determine if my affiliate program is good, and may indicate some references of the affiliated websites or books?

The caliber of your affiliate program is subjective - it depends on the category you are in. After all, there are very diverse metrics into play to Amazon.com for an e-book seller. Margins, conversion rates, brand, etc. all play a role.

For competitive analysis, I would suggest creating a real affiliate site with a content domain, unique, etc.

Then apply to affiliate programs in your category and promote as an affiliate. This will allow you to review the creative competitor, receive their communications and to get some insight into their conversion rates.

In the case of affiliate programs in competition where the EPC is public, you can combine the data with other results to make snapshots of those affiliate programs.

Also, set Google Alerts for competitors to keep up on any news about them, as well as what is said about companies in blogs, forums, etc.

As for web sites and books, take a look at blogs and forums affiliate marketing affiliate marketing for the latest information. Books are not usually updated on the latest issues, so it's best to keep up on the magazine publications like Revenue, Internet Retailer and Search Marketing Standard.

Also, listen to the shows on WebmasterRadio.FM - have weekly shows on all aspects of Internet marketing, as well as archives of industry conferences .......
